And just like that you’re gone and I’m okay with it.
Soon your face will be taken by the sea of time.
Soon I’ll forget our times together, our laughter, all of it.
Soon I wont even remember your name, you will turn to another book on the shelf.
Soon I’ll delete the pictures of you, ignore you in the halls, just another face.
You’ll be dead in my heart.
And I’m okay with it.
Just like the others, time will wash away all proof you were here.
Your face will turn to a blur of colors smeared on a cover.
Your voice will turn to static, forgotten and confusing.
New people will replace you in our memories.
Now proof of you has started to wash away.
What did you even look like, I can’t remember.
And I’m okay with it.
The little moments are starting to slip away already.
I still remember when you cried to me.
In the end that will be scrubbed.
It all will sooner or later.
Even the happy ones.
And I’m okay with it.
It hurts but you’ll be one of my favorite books to revisit if I do.
I grow tired of it all, of you and how it hurts to keep wandering.
My want for you grows shorter with each second it’s strange.
I was so worried and upset like an abandoned dog now.
Now it’s as if feelings were never there.
Did we mean anything, we must have.
Not anymore.
And I’m okay with it.
Delete, delete, delete… one right after the other.
Every picture disappears lost to time.
Lost and forgotten like a wandering soul.
No more smiles, no more waves as we walk.
Just passing with no glance at the other.
You blend into the crowd of the nameless.
The faceless.
Another body I have to push through to get to point b.
And I’m okay with it.
You’re dead to my heart.
Not in a I want you to suffer way.
But in a way people miss finding bugs hiding under rooks.
Miss the humming of grasshoppers on a peaceful night.
Miss when they first discovered their favorite show.
A bitter sweet type of missing.
Just like that you’re gone and I’m okay with it.
Good bye.
