Taste buds are weird.
I remember hating raw red onion.
To me it was bitter and void of any sweetness.
The pain of eating It was excruciating
as again the bitterness cut my tongue
with these tiny sharp blades.
I had it again.
Now it’s kind of sweet and the bitterness
Isn’t so blunt on my tongue,
the pain became faint,
The blades feel dull.
I guess my tongue developed a shield of armor.
I remember loving Trix cereal,
the sweet sugary colorful bliss,
It was addicting.
I guess I would call it a stimulant.
Now I hate that sugaryness,
makes my teeth grit
a feeling of nausea overwhelms me
the colors are just so overstimulating,
It makes my stomach explode.
The happiness perished from the explosion.
One’s taste buds change over time as they age,
But at the same time it all just seems so fast.
Things I loved the taste of I now gag at
Things I gagged at I now seem so blissful while eating.
I always hated black olives but I haven’t had them for a while.
Should I try them again?
Should I further expand on this theory?
Did my tongue create a submarine,
to cover me from against the ocean of saltiness?.
Should I try something I liked,
to see if my relationship with that food changed?.
To see If that armor rusted?
To see if there was a Submarine In the first place?
