SYE club is open for adventure

The SYE club meets on Tuesday after school in D17.

Schenectady Youth Experience (SYE) is a unique experience for students to go on adventures outside of Schenectady, which is mostly free of cost for students.

One of the founders of this club is Ashley Zeissler, an SHS senior, who developed this last spring with former advisor Molly Schaefer. One of the goals for this club is to make field trips more accessible for everyone.

All of the funding comes from fundraisers that are planned by the club.

“Fundraising is the backbone of this club and we need all the help we can get. Members who help with fundraising are more likely to have a spot on field trips” Ziessler said.

Ms. Schaefer no longer works for SCSD. Mr. Michael Silvestri is the new advisor. He is a history teacher and president of the teachers union.

If you have any questions regarding this club, you can email Ashley at  [email protected]
