Reese’s, Starburst and … candy corn?

What’s your favorite candy? Kit Kats? Maybe gummy worms? That answer may be more unique than you thought. 

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups was voted America’s favorite candy for this Halloween, according to Candystore.com. This topped the list over the likes of Skittles, M&Ms, Starburst, and Snickers. 

Surprisingly, Hot Tamales and candy corn made the top 10 list, at numbers 5 & 10, respectively.

Candy corn also was voted as the worst candy of all time in a separate poll on the candy website.

In an interactive map listing the most popular candies by state, salt water taffy and Hot Tamales performed unexpectedly well.

Overall, Americans were projected to spend over $3.1 billion on Halloween candy this year, according to the National Retail Federation. Overall Halloween spending was expected to be $10.6 billion, up 5 % from 2021.
