The Edit Contest that is sponsored by NBCU Academy and Adobe Express final results are out. The PM Mediaworks class at Schenectady High School won 6th place overall in the high school category.
The entry was earlier selected as a finalist in a national digital storytelling contest. They placed in the Top 6 out of 600 entries submitted. The contest had over 23,000 students involved from across the country.
The SHS team accomplished this feat by producing a 90 second news feature regarding the positive effects art has on mental health. The video featured Marvin Chapman and Karissa Beehm, with interviewees Ashur Leavitt, Devyn Flaherty and Tristan Weiss. Joly Verdejo was the videographer for the feature.
The Judges chose the winners based on creativity, originality and professionalism. The contest organizers stated the students displayed journalistic and technical skills.
