The Schenectady City School District approved a new grading policy this year that allows teachers to accept retakes on a test so they can master the material.
This is a good idea.
Some teachers give their students the option to make corrections on a test if the student is not satisfied with their grade. I believe this gives students the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and they can use the questions they got wrong to study for the next test.
As a freshman, I think this is a good policy. It helps us study the right topics and questions we’re struggling on, helps us get a better outcome on the test and understanding. Personally, I find myself studying the wrong things so when I get an opportunity to retake it helps with my learning process.
I believe students learn better this way because it gives them a clear understanding of the subject.
